About me

About the Veronica Grace Gallery —
My artistic  journey

My name is Veronica Grace and I’m an Italian-American artist, tattooist, and the owner of Via Grace Studio, an all-women tattoo shop in Royal Oak, Michigan.

While I consider myself a lifelong art-connoisseur, I would say my art career truly began in 2020. I was working at my mother’s salon as a nail tech and hair dresser. When a friend invited me to experiment with clay I immediately became fully hooked into the beautiful world of art.

Clay turned into sketching, which turned into sculpture. I poured my everything into my art. I drew inspiration from many artists, including Van Gogh. I would spend my entire salon shifts just waiting to get back into my art!

From there, I created my first ever self portrait, I dove into anatomy studies, animal studies, and more. Through emotional turmoil, blood, sweat, and tears, came my first fire-filled-creation - The Art of Heartbreak.

After this piece received such positive feedback, I took it as a sign to keep pushing forward in my artistic career.

I went to art shows… admittedly, failing at every single one. Little did I know, I just hadn’t found my niche yet. I kept pushing through, painting, sketching, sculpting, and developing my skills as much as I could.

One day, I went to get a tattoo that has a lot of meaning to me. Train tracks— did you know, train tracks were built over the mountains of Italy before a train could make the destination? Faith over proof. That is what my artistic journey was to me! I was beyond inspired.

From there, I began turning my art into tattoos. I practiced out of the side of my mothers salon studio. Two and a half years  later, with some help from some amazing women, of course, I opened up my own tattoo studio,
Via Grace Studio, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
